This year's 2007 Miss Chinese Toronto
media conference was held on October 12th at Shangri-la Banquet
& Convention Center in Markham.
The theme is "King Sing Yum
Mo, Juen Kei Chong Jo" (translation: City-falling mission,
Legendary creation). In addition to beauty & intelligence, the
organization wanted to create lots of action/movement (think 007).
CHARITY OF CHOICE: Mon
Sheung Foundation. Some proceeds from the finals will be donated to
Mon Sheung Foundation.
SPECIAL GUEST
TVB artist Michael Tong Mun-Lung. Some of his series
include Armed reaction II, Healing Hands II & III, Family Man,
etc.

Image consultant Jumbo Lau wanted to create a sexy,
youthful & energetic look for the contestants. It was mentioned
the clothes will be simple in line with bright colours, & that
many stunts will be performed during the finals.
Contestants came out today wearing identical
outfits (even numbers had leggings) somewhat reminiscent to Lara Croft
Tomb Raider. I was expecting the outfits to be a bit edgy with perhaps
Jumbo's signature materials, though I was plesantly surprised by how
well the outfits were put together & fit the theme. Loved the
shorts. I don't think the leggings did much justice for the contestants
who had to wear them. It did nothing for their figures.
A little over the top element was added
to the press conference for the first time. Before the self introduction,
delegates would perform a short fight scene with 2 stuntmen. You definitely
got a sense as to who can kick @$$ though I believe it could've been
omited as most footage will not be aired on television, they had to
pay the stuntmen & majority of the girls did not do them well...
#6 Cindy was the one
of the few who impressed us with her convincing moves & kick!
An obvious dancer, she will definitely shine on stage.
PHOTOSHOW
The annual photoshow will be held at Oriental Center (Int.
of Brimley Rd & Sheppard Ave. E.) on November 3rd & 4th as
well as First Markham Place (Woodbine & HWY 7)
on November 10th & 11th. The public will be able to vote for Miss
Photogenic & Miss Charisma.

CONTESTANTS
The one who surprised me today was MCT 2005 winner Elva Ni's
fraternal twin sister #3 Jennifer Ni. Her official
photo did no justice whatsoever. In person, she was stunning &
likely the prettiest contestant this year. However, she seems a bit
shy & needs to come out of her shell. Another stunner was #2
Ivy. She reminds me of MCV 2005 1st RU Lora Sun.
I would not be surprised if she's in the top 3. #4 Liang
had the best figure & caused the audience to laugh a little when
she mispronounced a few words in her intro speech. But it's a tough
year... it's quite an even group & it is still anyone's game.
