Oct 20th- Miss World Canada Results
Winner: NAZANIN AFSHIN-JAM (Vancouver, BC)
1st RU: Marie-Andree Poulin (Ste.-Foy, QC)
2nd RU: Yolaine Grant (Ottawa, ON)
Best in Swimsuit: Nazanin Afshin-Jam
Best in Interviews: (tie) April Mullings (Scarborough, ON) & Yolaine Grant (Ottawa, ON)
Miss Congeniality: Josie Dworak (Missisauga, ON)

Nazanin will represent Canada at Miss Worlds in December. She is 24 yr old from Van, BC and is a graduate of the University of BC with a B.A. in Political Science & International Relations. She currently studies Broadcast Journalism while balancing a successful career as a model, actress and Global Youth Facilitator. An interesting note... had the Miss Universe Canada org. sent a representative for Miss World, Nazanin would have gone, as she placed 4th at Miss Universe Canada 2003 back in January when Leanne Cecile won the title. The 1st & 2nd RU at MUC would be too 'old' to compete as the age limit for Miss World is 24 ! WELL DESERVED! GOOD LUCK @ MISS WORLD NAZANIN!!

Oct 19 Miss Chinese Montreal Results*as told by Julia
Winner: #8 Mimi Ngo
1st RU: #2 Phoenix Cheng
2nd RU: #6 Anne Ly
Miss Friendship: #7 Yun Hun He

Thanks to Mr. Ruth, our Montreal correspondent Julia was present at the event. The show started at 8pm and ended at 1am! Though it was such a long show, Julia describes her first pageant show as 'cool to watch'. The winner was #8 Mimi Ngo who will participate in Miss Chinese International 2004. She spoke in perfect Cantonese and was elegant as can be all evening. 1st Ru went to Pheonix from Hong Kong, whose performance wasn't particularly outstanding though she looked beautiful. 2nd RU was Anne Ly, whom Julia thought to be the second prettiest delegate after winner Mimi Ngo. Anne also had the largest cheering section as her friends (fans) came to support her. Julia also had a chance to take a photograph with last year's Montreal winner Angela Lu & described her as ultra nice & beautiful! Thank you again to Mr. Ruth & Julia and we hope some pictures/review of the event will be up shortly!

Oct 16th- Miss Venezuela Results *Thanks to Ryan for helping me with the names :)
After 4.5 hours, the Miss Venezuela pageant finally ended! The winner is Miss Lara, Ana Karina. She was stunning all evening and absolutely deserved the title. During her swimsuit & evening wear, her presentation was flawless. It was impossible to have missed her. She was immediately a bigger crowd favourite and during the show you could hear the audience chanting 'LARA LARA!". Miss Lara will go on to Miss Universe 2004. Here are the rest of the results
Winner: Lara (Miss Universe 2004)
1st RU: Miranda (Miss World 2003)
2nd Ru: Costa Oriental (Miss International 2004)
3rd Ru: Pnsla. De Paraguana (Miss Intercontinental)
4th RU: Distrito Capital (Miss Mesoamerica)
Semi-Finalists: anzoategui, aragua, dep federales, trujillo, vargas.
Miss Photogenic: Vargus
Miss Internet: Miranda
Miss Popularity: Miranda

Perhaps the most disappointing performance came from Miss Distrito Capital. She choked badly on her interviews yet placed in the top 5, likely due to Osmel's support. Overall, the show dragged on for many hours with countless performances by various artists as well as long 'lectures' from the masters of cermeony.*Image courtesy of bellezavenezolana

Oct 15 Miss HK 2003 *translated by AL
Mandy Cho, Rabee'a Yeung, Priscilla Chik and Selena Li attended a charity event selling cookies. However, during the event, Mandy had trouble saying her lines in front of the public because Mandy was busy filming a MV for Leo Ku till the wee hour, resulting in lack of sleep.

On the other hand, Rabee'a Yeung will soon depart to China to compete in Miss World. For this competition, Rabee'a will travel to Shanghai, Beijing and Hainan Island. When asked whether she has confidence in receiving an award, Rabee'a said, she doesn't want to give too much pressure, because she just wants to have fun. There will be an online voting poll for Miss World. Who knows if this will count towards their mark? Let's support Rabee'a! http://www.missworld.org/voting.asp

Oct 1 - Priscilla at Miss Intenational update
Priscilla Chik has arrived safely in Japan. Today, delegates at Miss International appeared in the first delegate presentation to the press. It was there that the first award MISS PHOTOGENIC was presented to the press favourite Miss Venezuela Goizeder Azua. Goizeder also competed at last year's Miss World 2002 comeptition where she placed in the top 10.

Meanwhile, in preparing herself for the Miss International pageant, Priscilla learned to style her own hair, put on her own makeup, as well as keeping to a strict diet in hopes of looking her best. Her family friend Rabee'a Yeung (MHK 03 1st ru) will be at the finals to support her. Good luck Priscilla! *Picture at left: (L-R) Miss Malaysia, Thailand, HK, Singapore.
