ELBOW
FIGHTS, HOMELAND BEAUTY FINALS TOMORROW, *Translated
& courtesy of Em, TVBSpace.Net
The eight mainland finalists from the earlier episodes of "Homeland
Beauty" (aka 'Landscapes & Beauties) appeared to meet the press
in their swimwear yesterday ahead of this week's final. However, before
the photoshoot, there appeared to be a 'battle of the elbows' with Number
1 Wang Peng Peng and Number 8 Zhao Ying Ying winning on the elbow front
and pushing the other contestants out of the way and covering their
competitors with their elbows
#4 Tang Yan Qing was the
worst off as she was pushed to one side completely by the other contestants.
However, she indicated that she did not mind and pointed out that if
everyone put their hands on their hips, then the group photo would not
look good.
#8 Zhao Ying Ying indicated
that she did not know she was covering #7
Huo Yan Jing and if she did, she was very sorry. She
adds that #7 stood facing
the wrong direction and she did not want to be obstructed, so she had
to do this. She also says that she has had to adapt to this because
they have not rehearsed together before, so there will be some minor
problems. She believes that #7 will
not be angry with her because they share a room and are good friends.
#6 Li Bi is lacking a
little in height and in the official photos, it was found that she had
not shaved her armpits. When she heard this, she immediately reacted
strongly: "What? Really? That's disgusting! I hope you don't publish
that photograph, I am young and naive." She says that she does
usually shave her armpits and she will pay more attention to this in
future.
Winner of Homeland Beauty will be competing at Miss Chinese International
2007.
Prediction: #7

MISS
HK BABY - WINNIE YOUNG GIVES BIRTH, *Translated
& courtesy of Em, TVBSpace.Net
Winnie Young had a baby
girl a year ago and quickly became pregnant again with her second child.
On December 9th, she gave birth to a baby boy, weighing 7 lbs 7 oz.
On the day, Winnie
was watching the Tung Wah Charity show when her contractions staarted,
so she rushed to the hospital. The birth was very quick, just taking
six hours from leaving home to giving birth. Her husband did not accompany
her into the labour room this time. She has no plans for any more
children at the moment because one girl and one boy is already perfect.
The baby has not been named yet.

This year's Miss Hong Kong winners Aimee
Chan and Janet Chow joined Liza
Wang at a promotional event for a watch company yesterday.
They wore their watches that they won from the contest, with Aimee's
worth $300,000 studded with diamonds and very valuable. Asked if she
likes to buy watches, Aimee
smiles that she does but she has to look at the design. As for the most
expensive watch she has at home, she says she does not know because
most of them were bought by her mother.
Aimee says that the
most expensive watch she owns overall is the one she won at the contest
and she will choose the occasion to wear it because she is worried
about scratching it. For Christmas this year, she still does not know
if she has to work yet, but she has bought a lot of Christmas gifts
already because she loves Christmas and hopes that she can have a
meal with her family at Christmas. Asked if she is not giving any
chances for men to pursue her, she smiles that her friends know that
she has been very busy after winning Miss Hong Kong, so they will
not invite her out.

Miss Hong Kong winner Aimee Chan
was invited by the China Hong Kong Trade Association to visit a rural
school in Beijing earlier on a four-day goodwill tour and as well as
joining the ladies on the visit in baking some cookies to sell, she
also helped to design the packaging. When the students saw her, they
were very excited and as she handed out some of the cookies to the children,
she wished them a very happy Christmas with their families, to enjoy
the lovingly made cookies and work hard at their studies, so that they
can make links with Hong Kong in the future. Although the classroom
was very simple, the warm welcome and enthusiasm from the children everything
seem very homely. As they received the cookies from her, the students
all smiled widely and asked her for her autograph and when it was time
to say goodbye, they all didn't want her to leave.
Later, Aimee took part
in the Trade Associations Annual Dinner, where she conducted the sale
of the Charity cookies. She encouraged the support of the delegates
to bring happiness to the children and successfully sold all of her
cookies. She feels that this trip has helped to promote links between
Hong Kong and the mainland and to take part was a great honour. She
hopes that she can take part in more activities like this in the future
and spread the message of love in China.
