  • Tijana Arnautovic, Miss World Canada 2004 departed early this morning for Sanya, China and the 2004 Miss World Contest!!

She flew business class to Vancouver on Air Canada, and is right now lapping it up in the luxury of Cathay Pacific's business class to Beijing. (Can you tell I'm jealous? ;-)) Upon her arrival in China's capital city, she will fly to Sanya on China Airways, arriving Saturday morning (Eastern time).

She brought several suitcases filled with beautiful wardrobe by Bobby and Sally Ackbarali plus our friends at Ooh La La Couture and many other local sponsors, with dozens of fabulous accessories by Bobby and Sally and Penny Katsouras.

Tijana will be one of the first delegates to arrive in Sanya, so hopefully we'll see a lot of press starting Sunday. So exciting!! *courtesy of Jimmy Steele

Not judging a book just by its cover, there will be a Q & A session, where the contestants' intelligence and eloquence will be put to test, apart from the girls parading in swimsuit, elegant and casual wear.

WINNER: #1 Joyce de Jong (Almere Haven / NL)
1st RU: #4 Chea Ien Chhay (Koln / DE)
2nd RU: #27 Rebecca Tjin (Rotterdam / NL)
Special Awards: coming soon

Winner Joyce de Jong (21 yrs), a bank employee from Almere Haven/NL stands at 170cm, weighs 110 lbs & speaks Dutch & English. Her hobbies include modelling, travelling, & fitness. Joyce's victory came as no suprise. She had previous won the Utrecht & Scheveningen pre-selection competition back in Sept. & 'secured' a spot for herself for the finals. Secured meaning, she had what it takes to win & was pretty much one of the very very few who would cause a stir at MCI 05. So the bashing on the mhk forums regarding Joyce's sister having an influence on the judge's score is like having a small paintchip on a new car.

1st RU Chea Ien Chhay (24 yrs) is a Sales Manager from Koln, DE. She stands at 172 cm & is fluent in German, English, Chinese, & some French. Hobbies include dancing, cooking, & styling.

2nd RU Rebecca Tjin (21 yrs) is a student from Rotterdam, NL. She stands at 170cm & is fluent in Dutch, English, & Hakka. Her hobbies include movies, & skating.
