5th 2004 - Another wedding
*translated by Em
of TVBSpace NewsHaving once taken part in TVB's "A Kindred Spirit" and contestant #7 in 1998's Miss Hong Kong Pageant, Fiona Leung Pui Ying held her wedding banquet on Sunday evening to celebrate her marriage to Wan Kwong Fai. The event was very warming and the bride was so touched that her eyes welled with tears. Although Pui Ying's former co-stars Nancy Sit and Johnny Tang, who 'watched her grow up' were unable to attend, but they sent her a short clip to express their best wishes to the couple. *** Some might remember Fiona from Miss HK 98 #7 as she was one of Jacky Cheung Hok-Yau's favourite contestants. Lucky for her, he was also one of the judges that year. Unfortunately, Fiona didn't perform her best at the finals & had one of the worst interviews of the top 12. After Miss HK, She appeared in the series "A Kindred Spirit" where she portrayed the character 'Jun Jun' (little sister of Melissa Ng & Michael Tse), who was involved in a love triange & was the 'love interest' of Hawick Lau until he ended up slapping her at the altar! http://orientaldaily.com.hk/ent/ent_a21cnt.html Miss Chinese Toronto-Media Conference This year’s Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant media conference will be held soon. The ten contenders will make their public debut and the organizers will announce the details of the pageant. This year’s slogan is ‘Life’s Most Beautiful Music’, and will also be the 10th anniversary since the first Miss Chinese Toronto pageant (1995). Is the title of the theme hinting the possibility of a talent award this year? Only time will tell. Click here to relive last year’s first media conference for MCT 2003. Miss Peru Chinese *courtesy
of Raphael & Jimmy Steele.Economics student Alicia Augusto Wong was elected "Miss Peru Chinese" (Lima), on Sat. Oct. 2 2004. She also won the Best Legs award. She is 23 years old, and says that she plans on using her title to work hard with various charitable organizations. The show was aired on the "America" TV network in Peru, and was hosted by Patty Wong (MCI 03 contestant). Wong leaves the first week of January to compete in MCI 05 in Sydney, Australia. MCI hasn't been held overseas since MCI 2000, where it was held in Las Vegas when Sonija Kwok won. It would be interesting to see if MCI will be held in Sydney considering the production at Miss HK was a little disappointing this year. Perhaps they saved money to make MCI an even bigger show. This year there were two contests, Miss Peru Tusan and Miss Peru Chinese. In the last years the winners of Miss Peru Tusan will go to MCI, but it was stated that the people who organized Miss Tusan in the last years have changed the name and now they organized Miss Peru Chinese. This year Miss Peru Tusan is a 'new' contest organized by other individuals. The winner of this new contest was Cinthia Tong. Picture Links
