L-R:
Tiffany Lam, Rachel Tan, Diana Wu
The
results of this year's Miss Chinese International
turns out to be a huge upset by many. The eventual
winner, Rachel Tan came out of the blue to
capture the crown, and becomes the first representative
from Kuala Lumpur to capture the title, topping the
success of her presucessor, Angela Foo, who
was 2nd runner up at MCI 2002. Rachel is currently
studying in the UK and her ambition is to become a
lawyer.
Tiffany
Lam, the representative from Hong Kong was dubbed
a favourite from the start. Although she did not get
the Miss Friendship award that many had hoped, she
did not go home empty handed and became the highest
placed Hong Kong contestant since Sonija Kwok in
2000. She was competiting strongly throughout the
competition, showing great improvements both physically
and mentally.
Diana
Wu is the third contestant from Toronto to have
made it to the top 3. Also a favourite since the start,
the Canadian beauty definitely lost in height (perhaps
figure also) but her presentation definitely left
a lasting impression on the judges. Diana is
currently studying Life Science? at the University
of Toronto and dreams of becoming a physician.
